Employment Type: Full Time Reports To: CASA Director Position
Summary: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a national
program of trained, dedicated volunteers assigned by Family Court
Judges to advocate for abused and neglected children. MHAWNY is
home to CASA of Erie County, which recruits, trains and supports
local CASA volunteers. Candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree
in social service-related field or three years experience in
volunteer coordination and/or social services. The ability to
communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective
in their roles. Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics
within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect.

21. Essential Functions VOLUNTEER TRAINING Assist with volunteer
recruitment Screen and interview prospective volunteers Schedule,
coordinate and attend training classes, assisting as moderator
and/or presenter CASE MANAGEMENT Coordinate, document and channel
all CASA volunteer requests until resolution Initiate orders for
assignment of volunteer to case Consult with CASA volunteers about
problems or concerns Visit children not assigned a CASA volunteer
Attend Court when necessary Enter data into computer database
system (Optima) VOLUNTEER SUPERVISION Maintain contact with each
volunteer and receive a written monthly report from each volunteer
Provide assistance and consultation, as needed, and when requested
Schedule, coordinate and attend ongoing in-service programs Keep
necessary and appropriate volunteer records as directed by the
Director Consult with appropriate child protective services staff
regarding client needs and volunteer assignments PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
Assist with public education about CASA program Assist in CASA
events Qualifications Candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree

License and reliable transportation with the ability to travel
within New York State, as well as nationally, if required Physical
Requirements/ Working Conditions The physical demands described

This job requires close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception
and the ability to adjust focus. Employee is required to regularly
