Job Description Job Description Primary Job Title: Medical Technician (Traveler) Alternate / Related Job Titles: • Traveling Medical Laboratory Technician • Clinical Laboratory Technician • Medical Lab Technician (MLT) • Laboratory Technician – Clinical • Diagnostic Laboratory Technician Location & Onsite Flexibility: Corry, PA — 100% Onsite (Travel Assignment) Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: Approximately 6 months Start: As Soon As Possible Shift / Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Monday & Tuesday) Every other Saturday & Sunday Position Summary The Medical Technician (Traveler) performs routine and moderate-complexity laboratory testing under the guidance of Medical Technologists and Laboratory Supervisors. This role supports diagnostic accuracy and patient care by following established laboratory procedures, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements. The position utilizes automated and manual testing procedures , ensures accurate documentation, and maintains compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards . Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing following established specimen handling, processing, and reporting procedures Set up, monitor, and operate automated testing systems and pre-calibrated devices Conduct manual testing requiring professional judgment Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures per departmental SOPs Review, validate, and release test results Maintain records demonstrating proper handling of proficiency testing samples Document quality control activities , calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions Identify testing issues, resolve when appropriate, or escalate to senior technologists or supervisors Report critical results according to departmental procedures Maintain accurate records of all on-site testing activities Ensure reagents and test kits are properly labeled with received, opened, and expiration dates Participate in training, safety sessions, and departmental meetings Maintain laboratory cleanliness and professional appearance Protect patient confidentiality at all times Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Required Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple procedures simultaneously Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards Effective communication and customer service skills Ability to collaborate with laboratory staff and other departments Preferred BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology , or Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 1–3 years of clinical laboratory experience Experience with moderate-complexity testing (training provided as applicable) Regulatory & Safety Compliance Adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA , and laboratory safety policies Participation in required safety and compliance training Knowledge of safety manuals, procedures, and emergency equipment Benefits Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans 401(k) Retirement Fund About the Company A leading provider of diagnostic information services, delivering insights that help identify and treat disease, promote healthy behaviors, and improve healthcare outcomes.
