DetailsThe Estimator is responsible for understanding and
evaluating project plans, specifications and other factors that
affect project cost. It is critically important that they account
for everything needed to successfully procure work in both hard bid
and cost-plus scenarios. They must have a thorough knowledge of how
to "build", and apply that knowledge when preparing bid packages,
as opposed to just evaluating what is on the plans and
specifications.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Engineering, Construction
Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent combination of
education and experience3-5 years of construction estimating
experience; experience leading estimates on large, complex
commercial projects over $5 million preferredLead estimating
efforts on large and complex projectsProvide conceptual estimates,
detailed estimates, and detailed self-perform work
estimatesOrganize, research, and strategically plan for estimate
preparation, pricing, scheduling, and final submission to the
customerDetermine which subcontractors to include in bidding and
budgeting processCultivate subcontractor and supplier
relationshipsCoordinate and collaborate with preconstruction
effortsCoordinate and collaborate with project teamsDetermine
pricing to be used in final estimateProvide work assignments to the
estimating team and ensure accurate estimating information provided
is incorporated into final estimate including, but not limited to:
quantity surveys and cost estimates, subcontractor proposals,
research on tax laws, collective bargaining agreements, permits,
etc.Write and submit Requests for InformationMaintain regular
interface and open communication at all levelsInterface regularly
with team members, owners, architects, and engineers to ensure
complete understanding of the project scopeEnsure that team
members, including subcontractors, understand initial project
requirements and on-going updates to those requirementsResearch and
analyze historical project data for application to current
projectWork collaboratively with designers, working toward creative
and cost-effective design solutionsLead estimate reviews with
