About Your Work DayChautauqua Institution is looking for a skilled trades position within its Buildings and Grounds department the right candidate will maintain a thorough understanding of Building Construction. This candidate will report directly to the Buildings Supervisor and on occasion will work alongside the other facilities teams -including Gardens, Grounds personnel, and housekeeping.Essential Functions:Framing, drywall work, finish carpentry, concrete forming, door, and hardware work are a -few examples of essential functions performed daily, but not limited to just these. This position also requires occasional night and weekend work along with occasionally providing assistance during snow removal season. -Skills and Abilities:Must be able to operate power tools including but not limited to table saws, skills saws, impact drivers and screw guns, etc. A good understanding of the proper safety and operation of all power tools is required. -Ability to understand blueprints and drawings with a willingness to understand all mechanicals including electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, etc.

• Preferred knowledge: BOCES training or trades school.
• Required experience: 5 years of constructionAbout Your ScheduleChautauqua Institution and Chautauqua Hotel Company offer flexible schedules, full and part-time, for seasonal employment during summer operations starting annually each June and concluding in August.--- Seasonal employment may be available earlier (pre-season) and beyond season (post-season) based on business needs and candidate availability.--- Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as a requirement.--- -While you will confirm your final schedule with management at the time of an interview and offer of employment, you should generally anticipate the following schedule options for this position:
