Vernon Township
(Crawford County)

is seeking a full-time Road Department Laborer/Operator, whose work involves the operation of equipment and the performance of manual work in the care of Township owned and maintained, roads and property. The employee also performs maintenance and repair jobs on automobiles, trucks and other Vernon Township Road and property maintenance equipment.

Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania-issued Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B motor vehicle operator's license is preferred but not required. This employee is required to submit to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with USDOT CDL Drug and Alcohol Testing Requirements and as per the existing Vernon Township policy, as amended. This position has a six (6) month probationary period.

Road Department employees are required to be available to be called out for emergency work outside of normal working hours any time of day or night, year-round, regardless of weather conditions. Must be willing to work weekends when assigned or called out for emergency work.

Wages based on experience and benefits will be as provided by the Township as per the Township Employee Handbook.
