Position Summary

Provides human resources services throughout the organization, including strategic guidance related to performance management, succession planning, retention and workforce analytics. Provides advice and counsel on human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

* Candidates with HR experience supporting sales, insurance, and/or IT are preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

Partners with senior and general management to develop and execute plans that optimize talent, structure and process. Assists in the integration of complex business factors to build business capability, develop leaders and drive business change efforts. Provides consultative and comprehensive HR support to Employees and management by analyzing and recommending solutions. Understands business partner goals, objectives and workforce needs by actively participating in staff meetings with assigned business area. Advises on the letter and spirit of federal, state and local laws, guidelines, regulations and rules related to employee relations and employment with regard to the application of all policies, practices and procedures. Serves as a liaison to the Human Resources Division, linking the needs of the business area to the services provided by the division. Provides counsel on the resolution of management/Employee issues, including corrective actions and Employee initiated concerns. Conducts investigations. Assists management with documenting performance management issues. Coordinates the completion of administrative tasks and exit interviews and prepares related analyses and reports. Maintains related files. Handles unemployment compensation claims by partnering with outside vendor. Conducts various training programs for supervisors/managers as needed. Conducts periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Completes special projects as required.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Eight years experience in a client-focused human resources business partner role required. Solid human resource technical skills, including but not limited to, performance management, change management, talent development and employee relations required. Sound understanding of federal, state and local employment laws required. In-depth knowledge of current employment policies, practices and trends required. Working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and human resource management systems software required. PHR or SPHR designation preferred. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel.
