Local UE 506Starting wage: $23.97Position Summary:Machinist will setup, operate and trouble shoot various types of machines and equipment used in producing parts and components.Major Responsibilities:Setup and operate various manual and N/C machinesComplex setups and close tolerances according to blueprintLayout and setup of equipmentTrain others on various machinesUse of various measuring devices and fixturingManage tool inventory; Set, adjust and maintain tools; and modify/develop new programsOperate forklift or jib crane as needed to support material placementQualifications: Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or GED5+ years' machining experienceExperience with all types of toolingMust be able to read complex blueprintsStrong math skillsMust be willing and able to work any shiftPreferred:Associate of Applied Science in Precision Machining TechnologyKnowledge of various CNC controls: Okuma, Mazak, Fanuc, ..etcMachining certificate3+ years' in a manufacturing environmentFunctional Requirements:Ability to read and understand complex blueprints/scales/third angle projectionsUnderstand math functions including simple math, decimals and fractionsAbility to climb repeatedly and work from heights off ladders, platforms, and scaffoldsRepeated bendingExposure to constant noise 90 DBAExposure to fumes/smoke from burning, paint vapors, and dustProlonged walking/standingHeavy lifting 45+ lbsMust be willing to work in tobacco-free environmentWabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world's toughest challenges.
