Energy Storage Test Engineer Location: Erie, PA Contract length: 12 months Job ID: #63985 Please email resumes to RKimbro@butler.com Role Description: The Energy Storage Test Engineer will function as an essential position on the Energy Storage Vital Organ team, working directly with Design Engineers to understand component or system testing needs, develop test plans to support, and execute the tests. Once complete, the Energy Storage Test Engineer will reduce and refine the data, develop reports of the test results and make recommendations for improvements. This role will require rigorous attention to detail and the ability to support several projects simultaneously. Skills: Time management, understanding testing needs and translating these into requirements, ability to read electrical prints, Microsoft products, knowledge of (or ability to learn) internal company processes and tools to include TRAMS. Essential Responsibilities: --- Work with individual Design Engineers to identify testing needs, ensure tests support the component or systems requirements. --- Work with the laboratory team to execute a wide variety of tests in a timely manner. --- Write detailed test plans that clearly identify test methods and required data capturing. --- Specify instrumentation needs based on test or process needs. --- Capture FRACAS items pertaining to test results. --- Analyze captured data from run-time data acquisition system. Reduce and refine data as necessary. --- Write test reports based on measured and recorded data, observations during tests and objective evidence after testing is complete. --- Support troubleshooting efforts of the facility controls. Qualifications: --- Motivated, self-starter. --- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field from accredited college or university. --- 2 years of laboratory testing experience or military experience in a technical Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). --- Strong working knowledge of electronic lab environments and test equipment. --- Ability and willingness to work "hands-on" in test labs and on equipment with hazardous voltage environment and the potential for arc flash energy release. --- Highly organized and close attention-to-detail. --- Strong drive for meeting internal and external customer requirements. --- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills. --- Strong interpersonal skills. --- Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary. Desired Characteristics: --- Working knowledge of energy storage and controls systems, as well as laboratory test equipment. --- Familiarity with test automation development in power lab environments. --- Ability to creatively solve complex problems with simple solutions. --- Experience working with very large data sets.
