Category: ManufacturingJob Type: Direct HireLocation: Kersey, PennsylvaniaMiller Brother Staffing Solutions is looking for a qualified Team Leader for a a busy and established manufacturing client that is located in Kersey.Position: 3rd Shift Team Leader Compensation: $63,000-$80,000 BOEBenefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K Life Job Summary Oversee, monitor, coordinate, train and facilitate production team activities, giving importance to individual members and overall team's achievement of established goals. Ensure team goals are aligned with and representative of the company's directives. Act as a liaison between team members and the rest of the organization. Minimum Qualifications A person in this position shall possess a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a manufacturing environment. This position requires knowledge of Operations and Lean Manufacturing Concepts with strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite. A Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Business, ASQ Quality Engineering, or MPIF PMT Certificate or equivalent experience is preferred. This position requires a high-energy individual with excellent communication, presentation and organization skills. The ability to teach/train/facilitate and lead the execution of Shop Floor initiatives amongst a cross-functional team environment is also a must. This position may require very little travel. Essential Functions Conceptual: 10 % (The ability to comprehend abstract or general ideas and apply them to specific situations)Human: 20% ( The ability to understand, motivate, and get along with other people) Technical: 70 % (The ability to use specific knowledge, methods, and techniques in performing work) Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and follow all safety practices and preventative safety measures. The Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring that associates on their shift are following all required and recommended safety procedures.
  • Direct, supervise and coordinate production operations
  • Facilitate team building activities
  • Champion product quality, workmanship, methods and processes to meet internal and customer requirements.
  • React to and take action upon non-value added or cost issues that may arise during production activities.
  • Utilize skills, knowledge, abilities, experience, staff hours, machines, and tools to most economical advantage
  • Recognize and react to equipment issues.
  • Provide input to management to facilitate effective cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling, or other continuous improvement measures.
  • Administer company and government policies/laws in accordance with all employee actions (hiring, layoffs, terminations, transfers, disciplinary actions, etc.)
  • Review performance of, coach for improvement, and set objectives for all reporting to this position
  • Recommend personnel actions, changes of assignment, training, wages, etc. for department.
  • Maintain and train a skilled, flexible and efficient work force
  • Coordinate quality efforts and achieve quality standards
  • Maintain and seek improvement to the cost structure of the facility.
  • Champion 5S and housekeeping programs
  • Maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions
  • Prepare reports as directed; such as Daily report out of shifts activities.

      • Product Introduction
      • Chair or Participate in Team Project and Task Force Meetings Annual Activities Review Past Year's Performance and Next Year's Development Plans
        • Review the performance and develop education plan, job assignment plan, career development plans with direct reports.
        • Assess overall staffing and training needs for the area Quality Requirements Follow Management System requirements. Safety and 5-S Requirements All safety rules, both written and verbal, must be followed. Accidents involving injuries, property damage, and spills must be reported to supervisor immediately. Near misses (close calls) must be reported as well. 5-S standards must be maintained in all assigned areas. Physical Requirements** Approximately 30% of this role ay require hands on repair and inspection of plant equipment Environmental ConditionsAverage Temperature 65 - 100 - F. Work is 100% indoors. Personal Protection Equipment ( As required in production area) Must wear safety glasses with side shields (ANSI Z87.1-1989.) Must wear steel-toed safety shoes (ANSI Z41-1991.)
