Job Description:

PURPOSE OF POSITION: --The Purchasing Clerk assures that all materials and supplies purchased for the Rouse Estate are received and appropriately handled, secured, stocked and distributed and documented for Accounting purposes. This position advises Department Directors and Administrators in the appropriate use of purchasing contracts and vendor resources to assure prudent buying practices.RESPONSIBILITIES:--Compare prices, specifications and delivery date to determine the best bid, track the status of requistions, contracts and orders, and calculate relevant costs.Provide reporting and analytics as needed on inventory and purchasing activity.Maintain inventory within an inventory tracking system.Create purchase orders to obtain routine supplies, or other items as requested by Department Directors and Administrators.Maintain files for all current vendors.Maintain purchase order log.Track files for open, completed and in-progress purchase orders.Track back orders to ensure receipt.Match purchase orders with packing slips to ensure the proper items and quantities are received.Receive products by UPS, mail or common carrier, and ensure timely delivery.Fill requisitions from departments for routine supples.Deliver routine medical supplies and resident personal care items to each nursing unit.--QUALIFICATIONS:--Customer oriented individual.-- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.-- Must have computer experience.Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma
