Job Description

Cyient has an immediate opening for an Entry-level Engineering Assistant in our Telecommunications Team located in Erie, PA. You will learn on the job all necessary skills required to draft and design Telecommunications projects. You will learn the necessary skills to draft and design fiber network designs in the Outside Plant environment (aerial, underground and buried). You will learn multiple CAD platforms and how to analyze field data and existing telecom records to create a viable design, ready to be built in the field. You will learn to do Right-of-Way and easement research to determine proper equipment locations and determine relevant encroachment permits needed. You will learn to create, complete and submit complete design packages to our customers. You will report directly to the Section Manager in Erie, PA office.

Position located in the Erie, PA office. Candidate must have reliable transportation to & from office on a daily basis.

You Will:

• Design and draft Telecommunications Fiber Engineering projects.
• Create other supporting documentation and submit entire package for approval.
• Collaborate with other OSP Engineers, Engineering Assistants, Field Technicians and Engineering Section managers to solve challenges and determine best practices for your projects.
• Research Right-of-Way and easement standards for your project location and assist with permit design and submission.

You'll Need:

• High School diploma
• 2+ years of experience in drafting (civil, electrical or architectural industry preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in AutoCAD (2018), MicroStation or other CAD program.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• 1 year of experience with interpreting utility, topographic, street or profile maps is preferred.
• Reliable transportation to the office on a daily basis
