DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Career Advisor Trainee, you will receive formal and on-the-job training designed to develop technical skills and knowledge in providing customer-centered services designed to enhance workforce development activities and service strategies for jobseekers and employers.

In this role, you will provide career guidance to assist jobseekers in making and carrying out career decisions for success in the labor market; identify suitability for and/or barriers to employment/training as well as appropriate tools and resources for jobseekers to achieve employment goals; provide services to employers, including making employer contacts, analyzing employer workforce and economic development needs; analyzing occupations to determine the skill sets needed by jobseekers; coordinating special recruitment services; referring qualified jobseekers to openings; propose hiring strategies and solutions to address recruitment and retention issues; etc.

Qualifications:

+ Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - Four years of public contact work that involved interviewing the public to obtain, provide, and evaluate information concerning employment or employability;OR a bachelor's degree.

+ Donotsubmit resumes, cover letters, and similar documents.
