The operator position is responsible for all activities directly involved with manufacturing salts or carboxylates at Franklin Plant. Activities include tasks such as charging raw materials, monitoring reactions, recording batch data, doing lab analysis, taking samples, etc.

This position reports to the Senior Operations Manager. Work schedule is rotating 8 hour shifts, typically Monday - Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Insuring cleanliness and suitability of production equipment for use.

Notifying supervision and or maintenance of any out of calibration equipment or broken equipment. This includes lab equipment.

Following all safety rules and material handling precautions.

Handling all materials with consideration of the environment impact.

Manage waste in area according to procedure.

Respond and contain spills according to procedure.

Identify issues that may lead to environmental, health, or safety issues

Perform tasks in a safe manner.

Maintain housekeeping.

Charging raw materials and documenting raw material amounts.

Completing batch sheet entries as needed.

Processing products per SMP instructions.

Following special instructions approved by technical/supervisory personnel.

Recording and communicating all production status, production systems, equipment and products to appropriate personnel continued.

Notifying supervision of all significant deviations both process conditions and product characteristics.

Taking and delivering retain samples to Quality Control Lab upon completion of processing.

Performing lab tests per Standard Analytical Procedures.

Performing the bulk material handlers duties and responsibilities, during his absences, as described in position description DESC-BMH.

Handling all nonconforming materials in accordance with appropriate procedures.

Processing, labeling and handling all pickups, raw materials and intermediates per SOP's.

Possessing the capability of working with swing shifts.

Possessing the capability of working with minimal supervision.
