a Respiratory Therapist at UPMC Cole, you’ll work with cutting-edge
technology and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality
care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Whether you're a
seasoned Sr. RRT or just starting your journey as a CRT, we’ll

experience. /n You’ll provide life-saving respiratory therapy
services across a variety of patient populations and clinical
settings—including the OR, ED, Cath Lab, and more. /n /n Key
Responsibilities /n /n - Administer advanced therapies such as
Nitric Oxide (NO) and Tracheal Gas Insufflation (TGI) /n - Perform
diagnostic procedures including ABGs, pulmonary function tests,
EEGs, EKGs, stress testing, and Holter monitoring /n - Monitor
patient responses and adjust treatments to optimize outcomes /n -
Assist in transporting ventilated patients and respond to emergency
code situations /n - Serve as a mentor and resource for students
and fellow staff /n - Take on leadership duties as needed,

/n - Must be a graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program accredited
by CoARC (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care). /n - If
you don’t have an associate degree, you can still qualify with 5–7
years of experience or by holding an NBRC certification. /n - A
bachelor’s degree is preferred. /n /n - Experience: /n /n - At
least 2 years of respiratory care experience required. /n - Must
include at least 1 year in a critical care setting. /n /n -
Professional Development: /n /n - You’ll need to complete one
approved department project each year, starting within 3 months of
hire. /n /n /n /n Licenses & Certifications /n /n - CPR
Certification: /n /n - Must be completed within 30 days of hire
(must include both classroom and hands-on skills). /n /n - For
Pennsylvania Applicants: /n /n - Must have a Respiratory Care
Practitioner (RCP) license in PA. /n - Must be a Registered
Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for
Respiratory Care (NBRC). /n - If you earned your RRT after July 1,
2002, you must keep your NBRC certification current. /n /n - For
Maryland Applicants: /n /n - Must have a Maryland Respiratory
Therapist license. /n /n /n /n /n /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /n - Osteopathic Respiratory
Care OR Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) /n - Registered
