your career? UPMC Kane is seeking a dedicated part-time Diagnostic
Technologist to join our dynamic team on 2nd and 3rd shifts. This
role offers a unique opportunity to expand your skills with CT
cross-training, hands-on experience with multiple imaging
modalities such as CT, DEXA, and C-arm, and close collaboration
with nursing and OR teams. /n Shift requirements include: /n /n -
/n Working Monday through Friday on either 8-hour second shifts or
12-hour third shifts /n /n - /n Every third weekend is required
(3rd shift, 7pm to 7:30am) /n /n - /n One rotating holiday per year
/n /n - /n Some flexibility may be available depending on
department needs /n /n /n While CT experience is not required, a
willingness to learn and grow in this area is essential. At UPMC

Qualifying evening and weekend hours have a $4/hr shift
differential on top of base pay. /n Qualified candidates may be
eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500. /n Responsibilities:
/n /n - Identify all patients properly by using two patient
identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing
procedures. /n - Review patient history and assess physician
orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal
results in the acquisition of data and document patient history in
electronic record as required. /n - Administer PO and rectal
contrast per physician orders/department policy /n - Ensure all
exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and
tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to
ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are
adequately entered for the exams performed. /n - Perform diagnostic
radiography procedures utilizing established protocols/procedures
without requiring constant supervision. /n - Utilize complex
imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and
documentation of image data and complete procedures according to
protocol. /n - Demonstrate a strong ability to interact with both
patients and co-workers while displaying a high level of caring,
listening, dignity and respect. /n - Able to work as team member
within the department and all other departments to expedite patient
care efficiently. /n - Perform a variety of technical procedures
that require independent judgement to adjust protocols and show
initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for
diagnostic radiography purposes. /n - Demonstrate the ability to
communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner
and explain procedures to help allay the patients' fears and
solicit their cooperation. /n Required: /n /n - Graduate of an ARRT
approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT
approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation
date. /n - Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect
supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the
degree is verified. /n - Technologist cannot work in an outpatient
setting until ARRT has been obtained. /n /n Licensure,
Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - ARRT Registry eligible as a
Radiologic Technologist. /n - Must obtain radiography registry
within 6 months of hire date as of January 1, 2025. /n - Diagnostic
Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, will need to obtain
their registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date. /n - CPR or
BLS Required. /n - CPR required based on AHA standards that include
both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days
of hire. /n - Technologist cannot work in an outpatient setting
until ARRT has been obtained. /n - If working in a NY facility, you
must have received certification from the American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology
Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York
State Department of Health. /n - ARRT Certificate /n - Basic Life
Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /n /n UPMC is
