The Surgery Center at Cranberry is dedicated to treating all

diseases such as retinal macular degeneration, glaucoma, dry eye,

Position Summary:
Performs perioperative nursing care for the pre-operative,
intraoperative and/or post-operative areas. - Responsibilities
include care of the patient patient throughout the the surgical
process. Provides nursing care to meet patient needs related to
surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered, monitoring
patient and informing the surgeon or anesthetist of observed
complications.

recovery roomi) Documents post-anesthesia care and identity of
second person in the recovery room during the patient's recovery
from anesthesia/sedation according to approved policies and
proceduresj) Provides nursing care to meet patient needs related to
surgical condition and type of anesthesia administeredk) Monitors
patients and informs surgeon or anesthetist of observed
complicationsl) Performs thorough post-operative patient assessment
prior to discharge of the patientm) Assists in assessing the
physical and emotional status of the patient in preparation for
dischargen) Develops a plan of care for the patient based on the
assessment datao) Reviews post-operative instructions and
prescriptions from the surgeon with patient and significant other
and documents in the patient's medical recordp) Informs patient and
family about appropriate care and procedure to follow upon
returning homeq) Determines that patient and significant other
understand conditions that require immediate care/method to obtain
immediate carer) Provides comfort and reassurance to the patient
and promotes privacy and dignitys) Other duties as requested by
Clinical Director9. Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees,
management, patients, visitors, and physicians10. Ability to
promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients,
insurance companies, and general public11. Ability to make
decisions and solve problems
Qualifications:
Required1. High school graduate or GED certificate recipient2.
Graduate of accredited school of nursing3. RN with active license
in the state of Pennsylvania4. BLS and ACLS certification5.
Evidence of leadership qualities6. Strong ethical and moral
character references7. Language skills adequate for high-level
written, interpersonal and telephone communication in American
EnglishPreferred1. Perioperative experience in outpatient or ASC
setting2. Computer literacyJob Type: Part-time
