Manager leads the daily operations of a specific production
department within the facility.This person is accountable for
managing plant production activities across multiple shifts and/or
departments to produce products that meet established safety,
quality, customer service, continuous improvement, and cost metrics
consistent with schedules and policies.Key
Accountabilities:Adherence and enforcement of all Corporate Safety
policies and proceduresAssure adherence to processes and/or SOP's
(Standard Operating Procedures)Accountable to ensure that all
responsibilities of Supervisors and key personnel are accomplished
on a shift to shift and project to project basis.Contribute to
production planning and budgetingEstablish production targets and
metricsAchieve departmental goals - scrap, build performance, PPH,
delivery, etc.Ability to understand and analyze data to assess
performance and evaluate gaps between what should be happening and
what is actually happening in order to meet department goals and
objectives. Continuous analysis of current production processes and
procedures, proposals for improvements, implementation and follow
through of agreed upon changes.Establish and implement lean
manufacturing initiatives that achieve improved business
resultsUnderstand implications of departmental "down time" and
inefficient processing. Understand how to react to such matters, to
minimize downtime incurred.Assign staffing to meet departmental
goals and support production.Perform root cause analysis of
production issues and obtain corrective actions utilizing the
appropriate support staff.Ensures parts are produced to appropriate
quality level and ensures suspect product is contained and
corrective actions and root cause analysis are underwayHold
employees accountable to their job duties in a fair, consistent and
professional manner. Suggest/recommend disciplinary action and
assist with deployment when neededPromote team building and team
environment.Work with supervision and HR to develop training
programs for cross-training of manufacturing personnel.Controls and
effectively utilizes the production capacity, manpower and
equipment and outside resources through planning, organizing and
scheduling to minimize losses; works within the framework of the
budget to optimize company profitabilityImplements standard work
and maintains improvement through sustaining behaviors, operating
with discipline and rigor, implementing autonomous
maintenance.Provide daily communication with production staff
regarding performance, areas for improvement, company news/updates,
etc.Facilitate communication and develop a shared vision within the
teamActively engages with employees on the production floor on a
regular basisCandidates must possess strong organization and time
management skills, and ability to communicate clearly.Education:
High School with some college desirable.Work Experience: The ideal
candidate will have 3+ years' experience in manufacturing with at
least 2 years demonstrated leadership. Lean/Six Sigma knowledge is
