* Flexible Schedules *JOB DESCRIPTION: * Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing, the Shift Supervisor/Relief Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the standards of nursing care and practices within the facility to meet the physical, psychosocial, and rehabilitation needs of the residents. Must have thorough knowledge of all residents and is required to work throughout the facility to perform tasks utilizing knowledge and skills. *Responsibilities: ** Directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of all nursing staff engaged in designated unit
* Authority, responsibility, and accountability for the overall management of residents on a designated unit
* Responsible for transmitting each unit's staff concerns to the appropriate department supervisor.
* Maintenance of Resident Care Plans and the overall management of resident care
* Other duties as assigned *REQUIREMENTS: ** Degree from an accredited school of nursing
* Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York required
* Must have a minimum of one year of experience in nursing service administration. Additional education or experience in such areas as rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred.
* Must possess knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long term care.
* Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
* Strong customer service skills and compassion
* Basic computer knowledge, PCC e-MAR experience preferred
