If a position is listed with both office locations and virtual offerings, Comcast may be willing to consider candidates who live greater than 100 miles from the office for the remote option.)Job SummaryIn the role of Cyber Data Scientist, you will be an important contributor within Comcast Technology Solution's exciting new cyber security business unit, which sells SaaS and subscription security solutions to the large enterprise and federal government. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering Cyber, you will be primarily responsible for developing analytics and data exploitation solutions for DataBee, a new SaaS security, risk and compliance platform that was developed internally and used inside Comcast's SOC, and is now being made available for use by the Fortune 500 CISO customer base. You will work in a high pace, collaborative engineering environment to deliver value for DataBee customers. In addition to leading and mentoring a team of software engineers, you will also be a senior individual contributor. You will be influential in creating a startup culture for the DataBee business unit, enabling and empowering your teammates to work in an agile fashion.Job DescriptionCore Responsibilities

  • Interacts with product and field engineering teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
  • Develops software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large cyber datasets from multiple disparate sources in a production environment.
  • Uses analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, extracting actionable insights using advanced statistical techniques such as data analysis, data mining, optimization tools and machine learning techniques and statistics
  • Manages development and deployment of predictive models based on historical data.
  • Researches, educates and applies knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques.
  • Develops customer centric models and optimization tools to support large scale projects that utilize streaming and at-rest processing over structured and unstructured data.
  • Understands platform usage and assist with production deployments and customer issue triage.
  • Develops security features as part of the development and embrace the DevSecOps culture.
  • Uses and improves on tools to identify and mitigate production incidents.
  • Creates self-contained microservices or application programming interfaces.
  • Use content management systems as applicable and global design patterns and defined coding standards and practices established by the team.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Additional Required Skills and Experience:
    • Demonstrated expertise in Python.
    • Demonstrated expertise developing machine learning-based analytics.
    • Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing and deploying microservices containing complex analytical logic.
    • Demonstrated expertise in working with cybersecurity data sets and applying machine learning techniques to aid in data engineering, security compliance and/or threat hunting.
    • Experience working in Agile Scrum development environments.
    • Experience working with GitHub and Jira or similar technologies.
    • Experience using Python unit test frameworks.
    • Experience using Docker.
