Basic Function

The Regional Reliability & Mechanical Engineer will provide engineering support to manufacturing operations in the North Kingsville (Ohio), Perrysburg (Ohio), and Bay City (Michigan) plants. This position will be located at North Kingsville, Ohio and may require 30-50% travel to the other two locations. Focus will be leading reliability and plant performance improvements, expense and small capital projects, supporting maintenance efforts, driving improvements in maintenance work processes, procedures, performance, and cost. Candidate will work closely with process engineering, operations, capital project management, and maintenance personnel in the execution of these duties.


Roles & Responsibilities

--- Deliver GoalZERO performance through strong leadership, employee/contractor engagement, and management systems --- Apply data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance issues --- Develop Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) Maintenance Plans and associated maintenance procedures, guidelines or work instructions that cover electrical and mechanical systems in the plant. --- Create, enhance and administer a consistent system of measurement geared towards improving the effectiveness of reliability and proactive initiatives --- Support development of Obsolescence and Long-Range Plans, which includes identification of Bad Actor equipment and development of mitigation plans (i.e. AMS Initiatives, SIS, PLCs, and governor systems, etc.) --- Develop and forecast spending plan in the annual maintenance budget --- Support Capital project organization in developing scope, participate in detailed design, factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests/execution phases of projects --- Enforce application of corporate, industry, and company standards and procedures --- Lead interdisciplinary reliability improvement teams to guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, controls and safety systems --- Provide technical support to operations on requirements and issues with unit instrument and low voltage electrical systems --- Create Management of Change documents and lead evaluations for Reliability initiatives --- Maintain awareness of emerging technology, assessing applicability to improve reliability and performance, or to reduce maintenance cost --- Participate and lead formal and informal incident investigations to properly identify and eliminate the root cause of incidents, complete and close findings --- Manage risk to the achievement of an organization's strategic objectives in the areas of environmental health and safety, asset capability, quality, and production


Min. Qualifications

--- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with minimum of seven (7) years of Reliability and/or Maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing industry --- Ability to work across multi-disciplinary team --- Willingness to coach, develop and hold others accountable --- Ability to drive continuous reliability improvements in equipment installations and work processes --- Strong commitment to safety, a high level of personal integrity, and dedication to conducting business in an ethical way --- Ability to manage multiple/changing priorities --- Advanced level of interpersonal capability to provide timely and effective problem solving --- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with internal and external clients --- Basic proficiency in the following areas with the ability to develop into a subject matter expert in particular areas o Knowledge of industry codes and standards (i.e. IEEE, ISA, NFPA, NEC) o Instrumentation and measurement technology o Low voltage power distribution and controls o Failure analysis o Reliability data analysis o RCM based Predictive and Preventive Maintenance strategies o Ability to apply computer software tools (SAP, Microsoft Office)
